Simple but thoughtful. Fun but measured.
Design for the future that considers the past.
I graduated from Murray State University in 2015 with a BFA in Art & Design. I am currently based in Louisville, KY, working as a page designer for Gannett. I create compelling designs and layouts for a variety of papers within the USA TODAY Network including products such as: the Courier Journal and the Indianapolis Star. I can work in both print, and digital and am always excited about the possibilities of the newest technology to incorporate into design.
Outside of work, I'm a tech buff who's so fascinated with new technology that I can't wait for the day we are bowing down to our new robot overlords. This interest in new tech bleeds into my love of design and the way I think of design today (will the logo I create today look just a good in 10 years when the medium used to display it has changed entirely?). I think designers like Michael Schwab and Aaron Draplin got it right a long time ago; simplicity is what elevates a design from good, to timeless.
As much as I love the tech world, there is still nothing quite as enjoyable to me than working with my hands. Whether its screen-printing, relief carving, or woodworking, nothing can really compare to the feeling of creating something out of nothing.
